Nickelodeon Asia Picks Up Rights To "Four And A Half Friends" For 2013

From C21 Media:
Four and a Half Friends take trip to India

Euro-Canadian coproduced toon Four and a Half Friends has scored presales with broadcasters in South-East Asia, Croatia and Portugal.

Viacom18 will air the show on Nickelodeon in India, Pakistan, Bangladesh, Bhutan, Nepal, Sri Lanka and the Maldives. It'll be dubbed into Hindi, Tamil, Telugu, Marathi and Bengali ahead of its scheduled 2013 broadcast debut.

The series - a copro between Spanish production and distribution house Edebé Audiovisual Licensing, Canada's Yowza Animation and Germany's ZDF Enterprises - has also found new homes in Europe.

Croatia's HRT and Portugal's RTP will acquire the series upon its completion. The deals mean eight European territories will now broadcast the show, with Spain's TV3 and ZDF's feeds in Germany, Austria, Switzerland, Luxembourg and Lietchenstein already onboard.

The toon, soon to go into production, follows the adventures of four kid detectives and their mangy street dog. It's based on German author Joachim Freidrich's books and is distributed by Edebé.
